Our achievement picture after our ride. 100 km on our 48th National Day_9 Aug 2013 @ East Coast Carpark F2
My ride buddy and I celebrated our 48th National Day with a difference! We started off the day early at 6 a.m. and rode for 4 solid hours covering a total distance of 100 km!
Our route:
From East Coast Park Carpark F2 >
Changi Village (21 km for a quick breakfast) >
Loop back all the way back to F2 (42km) ride buddy bro joined us to support>
To Gardens By the Bay (62 km for a quick coffee break) >
Loop back to East Coast Park Carpark F2 (84 km) >
F2 to traffic junction just before Changi coastal rd (92 km) >
Back to F2 carpark - 100 km!

Back to F2 carpark - 100 km!
It was a very challenging and butt torturing ride. Both of us were racing and encouraging each other along the way to make the ride interesting (and bearable). Ride buddy's brother joined us at the 42 km mark to support with his road bike as well.
First stop, a quick 15 mins breakfast @ Changi Village. After the refuel, off we go.
Our second stop. A quick coffee break at Satay By The Bay
At the end point, we met up with this nice elderly gentlemen (who helped us to take our achievement picture above) who showed us his 60 year old road bike he personally refurbished from scratch. We found out that this veteran is a bike collector as well. Ride buddy casually asked him how many bikes he has in his collection. His reply was, "100 bikes I have and I have a warehouse to store them." We were too stunned to respond. Talking about passion!
Ride buddy's skeptical look..."Are you sure you have 100 bikes. Don't smoke me lah!
