Started off the weekday ride with ride buddy with excellent weather. Managed to cover a total of 29 km in relatively good pace from East Coast F2 Carpark to Gardens By The Bay.
Ternie was all ready to give his best. With shiny and cleaned drivetrain, I expected Ternie to deliver excellent performance. Ternie did not disappoint me. Ride and gear shifts were smooth.
On our way back, it started to pour very heavily. We had to take cover and waited for the heavy rain and thunder to go away. Check out those reflective spokes!
Instead of waiting for the rain to stop completely, I decided that it was an excellent opportunity to test out my rain kit. My light and bright yellow rain coat was excellent. Managed to keep myself dry, comfortable and very visible at night.
The helmet rain cover proved to be a very useful item as well. My head was completely dry while riding in heavy rain. Love the reflective strip that helps to keep me visible at night. Highly recommended. At least you must keep your head dry if you are riding in wet weather conditions.
You can purchase this Helmet Rain Cover (US$8) here:
Looking forward to my Saturday long distance challenge. Hope to cover over 100 km with an average speed of 22-25 km/h.
Total ride mileage to date (since June 2013) : 841 km
